Uncatalogued: Papers of Captain Dixon of the DOLPHIN (est. 1912).

A variety of documents concerning Captain Dixon's correspondence with his employers, Keeps Steamship & Lighterage Company, Ltd. These correspondences cover numerous subjects from preferred route ways, crew and personal pay to the hiring of new staff and the maintenance of the ship. As these are Dixon's own collection of correspondences, the letters are mostly addressed to him. When we have examples from him to the company itself, these are telegrams likely included in subsequent response letter's envelope. Letters are largely uniform: printed on official letter head and signed at the bottom; the paper has held up well, however is of near tissue paper thinness.
