Administrative / biographical background
Frederick Lane & William MacAndrew, Shipbrokers, were a co-partnership until incorporation as a Limited in 1915; Reg No. 142583 and being dissolved as such in 1927. Lane & MacAndrew (Ltd) became managers from 1888, of numerous ship-owning companies including Petroleum Steamship Company Ltd which was incorporated on 4th December 1906 Company Reg No. 91083. This concern passed to the Anglo-Persian Oil Co (BP) in 1917 and in 1959 was renamed BP Clyde Tanker Co.
