Letter to Lady Arden, 16 December 1809.
Letter from George to his mother Lady Arden. He has received the items that she sent out, but the shoes would not fit him. The ship has been struck by lightning, ruining the mainmast. They have encountered French deserters, who talk of an insurrection at Toulon. The BOREAS, one of the ships they disabled at Rosas, has limped back to Toulon, and he blames Collingwood for not keeping a proper lookout. He has been ashore in Minorca buying vegetables. Dated HM ship TIGRE, Port Mahon, 16 December 1809.
