Letterbook of Dr McIlroy, HMS PERSIAN (1841-43).
Dr McIlroy served on board HMS ‘Persian’ on anti-slavery patrol duty off the west coast of Africa. This journal is a compilation of letters sent by him to his brother in Ireland during this commission.
