Box 1: Six envelopes containing a variety of items, including newspaper clippings and press cuttings about ships; post cards with pictures and photographs of ships; a handwritten list of ships with their service life; a handwritten essay titled 'Sailing Ships of the London Rivers' by FB Bowen, 1936; another handwritten essay, 'Last of the Square Rigged Ships' by J Ferrell, 9 July 1937; a printed pamphlet 'The Story of the Pitcairn Island & the Mutiny of the Bounty' by Captain JJ Cameron; 2 postcards and a menu card from KIA OKA are enclosed in the pamphlet; 2 editions of Ships & Ship Models, Vol 1 No 2 Oct 1931 & Vol 7 No 85 Sep 1938; 2 letters to Doe from the Editor of Sea Breezes; various other correspondence; a sealed, though seemingly empty envelope addressed to Commander CW Bower DSC RN The Arethura Training Ship off Upnor, Rochester Kent.

Box 2: Twelve manila envelopes containing press cuttings about ships; 1 manila envelope containing press cuttings and a typescript essay titled 'Square Rig Voyage' copied from the Geographic Magazine 1948;1 manila envelope containing press cutting and a photograph of a ship; 1 manila envelope containing press cuttings and handwritten list of lightvessels dated March 1950; 1 manila envelope containing press cuttings and 3 letters.

Box 3: Sailing ship catalogue from the The Nautical Photo Agency; exercise book with handwritten lists of square-rigged ships in 1931; copy of the Nautical Magazine, vol 106, no 6, Dec 1921; book titled 'Elementary Seamanship by Peter Clissold; manila envelope containing handwritten list of sailing vessels wrecked on Kings Island Tasmania taken from Pioneer Shipping of Tasmania 1938, handwritten essay titled 'From the Ocean Tramp', handwritten list titled 'Shipping Wonders of the World.
