Uncatalogued: Logbooks kept by Francis Thomas Parker as an apprentice on the CROCODILE and COLONY

Three logbooks kept by Francis Thomas Parker (1891-1981) as an apprentice with William Thomas, Sons & Co. Ltd., shipowners of Liverpool:

Log kept on the steel four-masted barque CROCODILE (1892) of Liverpool, between 21 June 1908 (departed from Barry) and 9 March 1910 (anchored off Folkestone).

Log kept during two voyages on the iron ship COLONY (1886) of Liverpool, between 13 July 1910 (departed from Port Talbot) and 16 April 1911 (arrived at Delfzijl).

Log kept during a third voyage on the COLONY, between 8 June 1911 (departed from Port Talbot) and 25 February 1912 (arrived at Leith). The volume also contains notes on the importance of a mariner's attention to lead, log, latitude and lookout; and a list of ships in the port of Antofagasta, Chile.
