Letter from Sylvia Mecherle to Walter Lord (13 Jul 1955), recounting her memories of the night the TITANIC sank. Also letter from Julie Hedgepeth (5 Apr 1987), enclosing a photograph of her great uncle Albert, with his wife Sylvia and their son Alden, on board the TITANIC.

Sylvia Mae Caldwell (1883-1965) married Albert Francis Caldwell in 1909. Their son Alden was born in 1911. They both taught at the Bangkok Christian College for Boys, and were travelling home to the States, on the TITANIC. All three survived. Albert and Sylvia divorced in 1930 and in 1944, Sylvia married George J. Mecherle.
