A view of Friday Island (right) and possibly part of Prince of Wales Island (left) from the southwest side of Thursday Island [Waibene]. A small flat-fronted two-masted sailing vessel is anchored in the bay in the middle distance. The hull looks similar to a Thames lighter. The photograph was taken from the beach, possibly Bach Beach.

The photograph is captioned: 'Friday Island from back of Thursday Island.'

Dr Coppinger records arriving off Somerset and Albany Island in early June and remained in the Torres Strait area for four months. They left on 1 October for Port Darwin, arriving on 20 October 1881.
