Correspondence from the year 1817 regarding Attorney-General v. Lindegren.
Correspondence between Lindegren and Kaye & Freshfield, among others, throughout 1817. Lindegren has received an invoice for his expenses for Mr Hayward's examination, but considers them too high. Kaye writes to Hayward on 1 January asking if the expenses can be reduced. Hayward replies saying he will not reduce the amount, but will in fact increase it. Also in January, examiner Robert Gatty is examining another witness, Richard Alexander Nelson, for the informant. By July, witness George Hartwell (former accountant at the Navy Office) is being examined on the part of the informant. In December, Kaye writes to Lindegren informing him that the Solicitors for the Navy Board have set down the suit against him for hearing in the next term, commencing 23 January 1818, and if he intends to examine any more witnesses or bring forth any more evidence it must be done before that day.
