Letters from Nevil Maskelyne to Joseph Banks.

Letter dated 1st May 1801 concerning letter from M. Lalande whose ‘Histoire Celeste’ is now printed, and providing further updates on the work Laplace and Delambre. Also news from Piazzi, Astronomer at Palermo, who has verified all the stars in Mr Wollaston’s Catalogue, his work is ready to print and he wishes to dedicate it to the Royal Society and asks Maskelyne on protocol for doing so; Piazzi has not received copies of the Greenwich Observations of the nautical almanac for some years, despite being on the Board of Longitude list since 1792 to receive the latter.
