Letters from Nevil Maskelyne to Joseph Banks.

Letter dated 8 Nov 1786, NM to Sir Joseph Banks, re letter of introduction to Dawes, busy training in use of equipment at the Observatory to take to Botany Bay. Comet of 1532/1661 should be visible in summer or autumn of 1788. Comments on current comet, hope to see it once more; just parted with Mr Linley (assistant), so taking all observations and can’t attend Royal Society meeting.
