Letter from Nevil Maskelyne to Joseph Banks.

Letter dated 9th May 1803 includes Lady Clive having some dried Indian plants for Joseph Banks sent from Madras; There is a delay in Mr Berge finishing Mr Brinkley’s instrument as he has to finish the 8 feet transit for the French first; Letter from Lalande re Mechain just about to set out to measure his great triangle upon the Island of Majorca, and attempts to improve the stand for their 22 foot reflecting telescope, possibly after Herschel’s visit there.
