Page 133 (recto): The fleet sets off from Fromentera, and encounters a Spanish vessel abandoned by the Turks after being plundered. At Tangiers they hear news of the accidental burning at Chatham of the DEFIANCE, which Barlow blames on the gunner's wife who was on board. Barlow expresses his low opinion of women.
Page 134 (verso): The ship sails to Cadiz via Gibraltar, and on arrival the crew have plenty of food and sherry. They return to England, where Barlow avoids being pressed into a ship returning to the Straits to make war on the Turks. Barlow sees his sister in London, and buys himself some fine clothes before setting off to travel to his parents' home.
