Notebook containing a journal kept by Elizabeth Frances as an emigrant passenger on the iron three-masted ship SAMUEL PLIMSOLL (1873), owned by G. Thompson & Co. (the Aberdeen Line). It covers a voyage to Australia with her husband and children between 21 March 1879 (weighed anchor at Plymouth) and Friday 27 June 1879 (landed after being in quarantine since arrival at Sydney on 12 June 1879). The last page is signed 'A.M. & E.F. Allbon' (Alfred Maldon Allbon and Elizabeth Frances Allbon).
