An informal group photograph of (l-r) Mrs Marion Loder-Symonds (nee Wilson), Captain Frederick P. Loder-Symonds, Lt. Cdr. Francis C. Cadogan, Temporary Surgeon Charles H. Savory and two white terrier dogs 'Mark' and 'Peter' on board the light cruiser HMS Cleopatra (1915). Lt. Cdr Cadogan is playing with the dogs while the others are watching. They are standing on the port side near the after 6 inch gun platform, the scuttles of the Captain's Day and Dining Cabin are in the background.

Engineer Lieutenant Herbert Allan Slade had been appointed to HMS Cleopatra on 19 March 1915 from HMS Zulu. Captain Loder-Symonds was appointed Captain of Cleopatra on 8 February 1914, and Temporary Surgeon Savory was appointed on 1 June 1915. Lieutenant Commander Cadogan was visiting from the battleship HMS Prince George (1895), having joined it in June 1915.
