Page 59 (recto): Barlow repents going to sea, complaining of the poor food and giving a vivid description of the dangers and fatigue of working aloft during a storm. He also describes the hazard of fire and leaks on shipboard, but decides that the chance to see foreign countries and customs compensates for the hardship of life at sea.
