Uncatalogued: Account book of James Garriock, master mariner

Account book kept by James Garriock as master, containing details of disbursements, pilotage fees, freight accounts, crew wages, medical expenses, sundries, etc., between December 1891 and March 1912.

It relates to his engagements on the iron four-masted barque ELLISLAND (1884) of Liverpool (pages 1-16); the steel four-masted barque CROMPTON (1890) of Liverpool (pages 17-21); the iron ship RAJORE (1882) of Liverpool (pages 22-43) and the steel four-masted barque BALASORE (1892) of Liverpool (pages 44-57).

There is also a loose photographic print by S.F. Wilton showing a large table and benches under skylights in the master’s saloon of an unidentified vessel.
