Uncatalogued: Transcripts of personal letters of Captain Thomas Bourchier, 1841-1842
Loose typescript sheets (10 pages) with transcripts of four letters sent by Captain Thomas Bourchier between August 1841 and July 1842, while in command of the frigate HMS BLONDE (1819) in the East Indies at the time of the First Opium War. The letters were sent to his friend Captain Henry E. Napier, then on half-pay.
