A view in Alexandra Bay [Princess Alexandra Harbour] looking at the ice-foot and grounded ice in the foreground. The distant coast has a small glacier (on the left). The two ships passed Cape Sabine in the morning of 4 August, arriving at the Bay in the evening. When the ice opened a channel to the northwest the ships departed on 5 August 1875.
