Discovery' (1873) with awnings rigged in Discovery Harbour, Lady Franklin Sound (Bay).

Port bow view of 'Discovery' (1873) with awnings rigged in Discovery Harbour, Lady Franklin Sound (Bay). Taken looking east towards the lower slopes of Cairn Hill with the observatories and ship's boats in the background. The level of snow on the buildings and slopes in the background suggests that this was taken soon after 20 September when about three inches of snow fell. A few days later even more snow fell. Circa 20 September 1875
