A view along Westward Ho! Valley.

A view along Westward Ho! Valley. In the foreground is the dog-sledge with the dogs resting on the ice. Behind the sledge is the pitched tent with four crew members posing for the photograph. The handwritten caption on the mount in Album 1093 states that this is the party under Captain Stephenson on their way to 'Alert' (1856). However, the landscape is not correct for this to be the case. NOTE: it is a similar image to No. 79 and may be from the same expedition.
