Journal kept by Daniel Paine covering the years 1795-1798
Journal kept by Daniel Paine covering the years 1795-1798 with complete typed transcript.
Administrative / biographical background
This is the copy Daniel Paine wrote out again from loose sheets he took on his travels but also including an additional year of 1798 not provided in JOD/172 (which covers 16th December 1794 – 7th September 1795; 24th November 1796 – 7th February 1797; 4th July 1797 – 11 August 1797). There is overlap between the two parts of the journal but crucially, the second part includes an additional year (of his voyage back to Deptford) and appendices.
