Recto: The GUANNABOE reaches the Gulf of Mexico and the coast of Florida. Barlow reports that the local people are reputed to be cannibals. Verso: The GUANNABOE arrives back in England and Barlow rejoins it as chief mate the following year. Sailing to Barbados, there is sickness aboard, and when they leave the island Barlow takes over as Master of the ship.

Page 215 (recto): The GUANNABOE reaches the Gulf of Mexico and the coast of Florida. Barlow reports that the local people are reputed to be cannibals. They steer eastwards towards the island of Bermuda.
Page 216 (verso): The GUANNABOE arrives back in England and they hear of the Titus Oates plot. In March 1679 Barlow ships on the GUANNABOE again, as chief mate. There is sickness on board, and Barlow takes charge of the ship while the master is ill. They call in at Barbados, where the master orders Barlow to command the ship while he stays behind to recuperate.
