Page 201 (recto): Marseilles, France.
Page 202 (verso): The MAREYGOULD delivers herring at Livorno. At Naples they meet with the Dutch Admiral de Ruyter and his fleet. Barlow witnesses a minor eruption of Vesuvius, and describes how some passengers are tourists hoping to see the sights of Italy. The ship's carpenter dies but has to be buried outside Naples because he is a Protestant.
