Page 197 (recto): Barlow briefly describes Glasgow and its inhabitants. The ship is leaky and requires constant pumping out. Barlow argues with the master, who does not think it necessary to put into Kinsale to try to repair the leak.

Page 198 (verso): The ship sails on to Cape St. Vincent, and then to Tangier, Cartagena and Alicante. At Saflue Barlow is in the boat which is sent to obtain some wine. Barlow describes their next stop Toulon, which has a seaman's hospital.
